Why should we trust you with education? We are a truly diverse team of 13 educators and engineers based across Australia and India, all with STEM degrees and significant industry experience. Most of us have kids who are in education. One of our co-founders is currently studying herself. So, we get it. We really, really do.
-
What is the difference between OC and Selective?OC stands for Opportunity Class and is an advanced placement programme in schools starting 5 based on selection exams. Selective Exams are run by each Australian States for academically gifted students for placing them in higher aptitude classes and/or courses starting in year 7.
-
Is it not cheating if I prepare for gaining entrance to OC or the Selective Exam?Sometimes, our potential is hidden. How do you know what you are capable of if you never got the support to explore what's possible? Take our test series, take a class - see if something eventually 'clicks'. If it does, who knows what's possible?
-
Why do I need support to prepare for Higher Aptitude Selection Test (HAST)?While there's no official data on the number of students who "fail" the HAST, it's understood that a significant portion do not achieve the scores needed for selective school placement. Therefore, the more support you have, the better.
-
What support is available for HAST or EduTest? You can either sign up for one of our test courses, where you will be provided with exam style tests and multiple tests of each category, unlimited attempts and percentile scores, with doubt clearing sessions. You can also sign up for our mentoring classes where we will focus specifically on preparing for the Higher Aptitude Selection Test (HAST) or EduTest - from Year 8 to Year 11.
-
Why only Year 8 to Year 11 for Higher Aptitude? I want to start in Year 7!HAST or EduTest is only for lateral placements in advanced placement programmes. The entry into Year 7 is through Selective Exams. We do offer support for Selective Exam preparation - through both Mentorship, as well as Test Series.

Can you demystify ATAR?ATAR stands for Australian Tertiary Academic Rank. No matter where you are in Australia, based on your performance in High School (Year 12), in accordance to your State's High School Curriculum, you will have an ATAR calculated. This is the rank that is used by Universities across Australia for their admissions process. The ATAR is used by all Australian public universities via their respective state-level Tertiary Admissions Centers, which are the unified admission center for all the universities within that state or territory.
-
How do you help boost ATAR?Although ATAR applies to Year 12, how you perform in Year 12 is dependent on a strong foundation. This, in turn, means how you learn and what you retain from previous years. We, at MindMentors, with our adaptive learning and personalised testing, easily figure out the areas where you require revision and help you focus on those. It is this intelligent repetition that contributes to boosting your ATAR so you can go to the University you want.
